Sunrise Lake is a 25-acre state fishing lake near Heath Springs in Lancaster County, part of South Carolina’s network of small, intensively managed public lakes that put good fishing within reach of every community.

Fertilized and stocked, Sunrise gives up largemouth bass, bluegill, shellcracker (redear) and channel catfish from a small boat or the bank. As a state lake it is open on a limited schedule — generally Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, from a half-hour before sunrise to a half-hour after sunset — and has a boat ramp and a small picnic area. A South Carolina fishing license is required.
