Bonneau Ferry WMA Lakes – Berkeley County

Bonneau Ferry Wildlife Management Area, in Berkeley County between Moncks Corner and the Santee Cooper lakes, holds four fishing lakes — Quarterman’s, Alligator, Hogpen and New — that together total about 100 acres of Lowcountry water.

Fishing and access

All four lakes provide largemouth bass, bluegill and shellcracker, while Quarterman’s also gives up crappie, warmouth, mudfish and gar. Bonneau Ferry runs a managed adult/youth fishing program, open Thursday through Sunday from early March to the end of October, and closed during scheduled deer and turkey hunts. Check the current SCDNR schedule before you go; a South Carolina license is required.
