Broadway Lake fishing & boating guide

Broadway Lake is a friendly 300-acre lake in the rolling country of Anderson County, a longtime local favorite for boating, swimming and fishing. It is shallow — averaging only about 6 feet with a maximum near 22 — which warms it early and makes for lively spring fishing.

Anglers do well on largemouth bass, crappie, bream and catfish, working the docks, brush and the lake’s many fingers. A lakeside park provides a public boat ramp, picnic space and a place to swim, and the wooded shoreline supports a steady market of lake homes for those who want to stay.

An aritcle written by Mike Ellis dated May 16, 2009 on the website www.independentmail.com states that the floodgates on the Broadway Lake dam were damaged during a March rainstorm. So the lake has lost a great deal of water and may not be suitable for lake recreation.
