Lake Cunningham is a 376-acre lake just outside Greer in Greenville County, one of the pair of reservoirs — with neighboring Lake Robinson — that make up the “Greer chain of lakes.” Owned by the Greer Commission of Public Works, it supplies drinking water and doubles as one of the Upstate’s most pleasant small fishing lakes.
The recreation area has a boat ramp, three fishing piers and picnic shelters. A boating permit is required, there is no fishing right around the dam, and motors are capped at 10 horsepower — a rule that keeps the water quiet and makes Cunningham a favorite of kayak and johnboat anglers chasing largemouth bass, crappie and bream.
About 376 acres near Greer in Greenville County.
Motors are limited to 10 horsepower, which makes it ideal for kayaks, canoes and small johnboats.
